Fresh Coconut  Drink

It's 16th day of Ramadan our Iftar Menu are Stir Fry Orange Beef, Buttered Garlic Broccoli, White Tom Yam, Fresh Fruits Platter and Fresh Coconut Juice. A combination of Chinese, Thai and Western. Mild with no chili and spices, good for the tummy during this fasting period.

Stir fry Orange Beef was something new that I just tested. I saw this in Martha Stewart Show, it looks interesting a dish of east meet west recipe. The use of oranges in stir fry is not common but then again it seem to be a favorite dish, so why not give a try. Recipe heavily adapted from Chowtimes.com. In this recipe I only used the orange juice, what I saw in Martha Show, she added some orange slices. You can add that if you like. So here's I made my Stir Fry Orange beef the Chowtimes way.
Ingredients
  • 2 cups slice flank steak
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • orange segments from 2 oranges
  • 2 green onions, cut into 1-inch length
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • sesame seeds (optional)
  • some french beans
  • some red bell peppers
Seasoning

3/4 cup freshly squeezed orange
2 tablespoon soy sauce
2 teaspoons ginger powder
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1/4 teaspoons ground pepper

Marinade the beef with the seasoning and set aside for 15 - 20 minutes

Heat a frying pan with the sesame oil. Use a pair of chopsticks to pick up the beef from the marinates and add to the pan, reserving the marinates. Saute the beef until brown. Do in batches Make sure not to overcook the beef.

Remove the beef from the pan and set aside. Dust with some cornstarch.

Add the vegetables to the pan and stir fry for a minute.

Return the beef to the pan and the remaining of the marinades. Cook until the beef is tender. Reduce heat.

Serve in a dish and garnish with sesame seeds if desired. Serve warm with steamed rice.

Saya baru mencuba resipi daging goreng bersama sos orange.
